Wordsmith Communication Advises Leaders To Pay Attention To Their Reputations In 2011

“Companies trade on their reputations. But is yours adding value to your bottom line…

…or is it costing you business?”

That was the question posed by Deborah Smith, Managing Director of Wordsmith Communication – the Solihull-based specialist reputation and brand building consultancy – at the Solihull Chamber of Commerce New Year’s Lunch on Friday 28th January 2011.

She urged business leaders to pay attention to their corporate and leadership reputations, pointing out that they are currently one of the least trusted professions, according to IPSOS MORI research which suggested only 1 in 4 people trusted business leaders. She also highlighted recent corporate organisations, such as BP, who have seen millions wiped off their share price through poor communication and a rise in anti-business campaigning by consumers, particularly through social media, in this country that is having a dramatic financial impact on small as well as large, multinational businesses.
